| Description: | Employer Solutions Group is seeking a Workers Compensation Claims Specialist to join our Risk Management team. ESG has a nationwide presence, an experienced management team, and has been consecutively voted one of the best companies to work for in Utah. The Risk Management team is responsible for developing, recommending and administering property and casualty management and loss prevention programs to protect assets. ESG is searching for a smart, energetic, business-oriented team player to control costs and reduce risks.
As an ESG WC Claims Specialist, you will be working from ESGs new office located in Provo, Utah. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated coordination of workers' compensation cost control activities between the injured employee, management, third party claims administrators, and healthcare providers. Claims Specialists act as an advocate for injured employees to reduce lost time claims, reduce litigated claims and improve employee retention. Identifying cases requiring medical management and surveillance will be required as well as facilitating the return-to-work process
Claims Specialists manage multiple accounts which are time sensitive requiring excellent organization and multi-tasking abilities. If you thrive in a fast paced and self-managed environment, this may be the job for you.

| Duties: | Initiate telephone contact with injured employee immediately upon notification of injury
Explain workers' compensation, third party administrator's role, Injury Counselor's role and others' role that may participate in the claim of the injured employee
Communicate with employee about their concerns or questions about injury, treatment, satisfaction of care, salary and workers' compensation payments, and return to work
Follow up with employee and treating physician after every medical examination focusing on employee's condition and treatment plan
Determine and advise cases requiring medical management and ancillary services
Act as liaison between management, adjuster, and employee to promote return to work
Identify subrogation potential for claims and communicate with claim adjuster
Prepares premium and liability reserve schedules
Serves as company advocate.

| Qualifications: | College degree in field involving medical services or counseling preferred
Able to work with different types of contacts (professionals, families, employees, insurance service providers)
Possesses strong communication skills and ability to influence others
Demonstrates knowledge of the workers' compensation claims process
Understands and can communicate workers' compensation law
Possesses strong organizational skills and can effectively manage many matters
Can evaluate facts, determine necessary next steps, and react quickly
Understanding of basic medical terminology
Knowledge of the workers' compensation process and claims handling best practices
Strong oral and written communication skills, organizational and follow-up skills
Pleasant and clear telephone speaking voice
Empathetic listening skills coupled with innate curiosity
Bilingual (English and Spanish) - preferred.
